Elmár Sailing

Logo
Elmar Sailing Logo

Ahoy!

Elmár is a sailing adventure company.

The company organizes unique themed sailing adventures in some of the most picturesque locations around the world. In addition, Elmár assists with yacht booking and operates as a sailing school.

The branding is intended to appeal to their international audience of young professionals. Busy with daily jobs, they are craving an experience of something new and exciting.

Atlantic flyingfish, Cheilopogon Melanurus

The client expected their branding to be unique and to stand out among competitors, who often use cliches such as sails or anchors in their logos.

Reminiscent of brave explorers of the past, a flying fish became a perfect symbol of freedom and adventure.

Elmár logo is an elegant combination of a flying fish mark and the brand name.

The typeface is smooth and friendly, like waves rolling on a bay. An accent above the letter “a” was added to encourage correct pronunciation.

The logo has a vintage and timeless feel, yet is undoubtedly contemporary.

I have picked the typefaces remindful of nautical signs and old maritime maps.

At the same time, the typography is easy to work with, modern and clean. Noto Serif, used for headers, has a lot of character, while Ubuntu selected for the body is designed for ideal readability.

The colour palette is inspired by the marine theme.

The sapphire blue invokes the depth of the sea. The bright blue of a turquoise lagoon. The green-grey of battered ropes. The light beige of well-travelled sailcloth, and the bright orange of a rescue jacket.

Darya did a fantastic job embodying my brand.

I asked Darya to create an identity for my company – Elmár Sailing. The process of our collaboration was very smooth and efficient. I appreciate Darya for listening and addressing all my asks and suggestions, keeping track of the project and sending reminders. She went beyond my expectations.
I am eagerly recommending Darya to anyone who is looking for a passionate and professional graphic designer.

Krabbel-Studio

Logo

Krabbel-Studio is a YouTube channel with a mission to show parents how they can support their babies in their movement learning journey with fun and practical examples.

The branding of the channel reflects its playful, humorous yet practical character. It needed to appeal to the audience of parents.

The channel name “Krabbel-Studio” translates into English as “Crawl Studio”. At the same time, “Krabb” is a crab. With this play on words, Mr Crab was born – a cute smart baby crab mascot of the channel.

Charming Mr Crab is here to help and always comes with tips and advice.

Early drafts of the crab character

Outcome: The playfulness of the brand is reflected by both bright colours and organic fun shapes. It is balanced by a clean, professional, modern typeface for the channel name and tagline.

The channel logo is playful yet minimalistic

YouTube identity goes beyond logo design as viewers mostly engage with videos. By selecting brand fonts and colour palette I’ve developed a design system with easy to use templates in Adobe Spark for varied and attractive video thumbnails.

Thumbnails include video title and are easy to read even on mobile

The channel banner continues the marine theme and features the logo with the tagline “Babies in motion” as well as photos of the lovely star of the channel – Tammo.

The animated channel intro is bringing Mr Crab to life and showing a bit of his bubbly personality.

Mr Crab is even making an appearance in the most unexpected moments during the video to lighten up the mood.

When Darya and I first started talking, our YouTube channel was hardly more than an idea.

Darya made sure she understood the “spirit” and the vision of our project and then suggested a range of directions we could take, which included Mr. Crab. I really loved her working style: investing in understanding the core of a project, translating it into a creative and original idea, ensuring feedback loops while being reliable and efficient. I would highly recommend working with Darya to anyone who is looking for a creative partner, a talented artist and a lovely person to work with.

Nicely Plant

Logo

Nicely Plant is an Irish indoor plant shop with a scientific approach and unique gorgeous plants.

Project: Design a logo for the online store considering various usages online and offline beyond the website (social media, packaging etc.). Translate “nicely” through the logo while keeping the idea of a plant growing in a pot.

The shop owners’ favourite plant is Monstera Deliciosa – also known as Swiss cheese plant – which became an inspiration for the logo.

Monstera plant was an inspiration for the logo

Early versions of the logo were featuring a potted plant and were more abstracted, geometric. Niceness was expressed through smooth lines and heart-shaped leaves.

Early versions of the logo

During the feedback session, we decided to move towards an organic, light representation of the plant and a more dynamic composition. The pot was replaced by a symbolic line referring either to a ground or a plant pot.

Revised logo with alternative leaves variations

Outcome: The final logo features two abstracted yet recognizable Monstera leaves. Offset colour spots add both lights and dynamism to the composition. A clean contemporary, yet playful and friendly font is used to balance the organic shape of the plant.

If it wasn’t for Darya we would NEVER have been able to launch our shop on time before Christmas!

Darya really took time to understand the Nicely Plant concept, and what we wanted it to represent. As a result, she created a logo we’re absolutely in love with! We can’t recommend her highly enough – professional, reliable, and a true artist!

Red Panda

Logo

Red Panda Coffee cup

Logo design for an Irish mobile coffee shop “Red Panda Coffee Wagon”.

Project: Re-design a logo for a coffee shop featuring a red panda in a biker outfit. Keep a minimal colour palette (white, black and bright red).

The coffee shop owner – Taras – is a biker himself and initially planned to sell coffee at markets from a wagon attached to his red Honda motorbike.

It was important to keep the red panda’s key features recognizable: the shape of the head, white marks on the face, long whiskers. At the same time, the animal was supposed to be stylized and have a biker feel.

Besides wearing a helmet and goggles (safety first) I added a bandana to balance the composition and add a bit of style.

Initial sketch of the logo

Outcome: The circular logo includes the coffee shop name in a modern, clean, bold sans serif typeface. The stylized red panda wears an oversized helmet and goggles. His little fluffy face is friendly yet determined. The bandana is decorated with a coffee beans pattern hinting towards its beverage of choice.

The final logo design

In the future, the logo will be used in a variety of products including coffee cups, packaging, aprons, tote bags etc. The small details make the logo interesting to look at in large size prints.

Instagram is currently the key marketing channel and the logo in circular shape works well in that context.

The logo works equally well in grayscale and a plain text version ensuring flexibility in use cases. Additionally, the red panda’s face can be used separately as a profile picture on social media or to be printed on merchandise.

I had the pleasure of working with Darya on the logo for my coffee company. From the very beginning, Darya showed great attention to details and commitment to ensure customer satisfaction.

The project took several iterations and every time Darya was making important changes based on our discussions so the end result came out pitch-perfect. Very happy with the outcome and overall experience working with Darya, cannot recommend her enough!
